Ahhh - the 80's!

Over at ScrapCatForum the challenge for January was to scrap a smell or a taste which reminded us of our childhood. I chose a GREAT smell, which I really miss. I get all happy when I think about it and also a tiny bit sad. My layout for this challenge is about my grandparents. My beloved granddad died in Jan. 2002, and I still miss him a lot. I still have my grandmom ... sort of. She's not well, she's tired of life actually and it makes me so sad.
Well, I found an old photo of my grandparents kitchen-window (the photo is taken in the early 80's). And I just knew I would use this photo for my layout about a great smell from my childhood. My grandparents house had a wonderful smell. Always so fresh and clean ... and I loved it!

This was a very fun challenge to do! And here's my result:

Again I chose to scrap 12 x 12 - and this is my 3rd layout in this size. :-) The bird on the photo is my bird, which my granddad gave to me. I had him for 12 years!! I tought him to speak and he loved being outside his cage "talking" to me. He loved sitting on my hand! He was a very cute bird! :-) This LO will be a part of my BOM!

Well, I'm off now. Tomorrow we are travelling to France (to go skiing) together with my brother and SIL. A week of freedom without kids, work or anything like that. Just 4 adults having some fun!!

Have a NICE week! I'll talk to you all soon!

An award + a little secret

Goodmorning.
The sky is so beautiful right now - all red as the sun are rising. BEAUTIFUL! And BREATHTAKING!

I have received this little cute award. It's given to me by Dorthe, Jette, Marie and Thanni. Thank you VERY much girls, I appreciate it very, very much! :-)

I will give this award to:
Scrappelise in Norway! She's such a great scrapbooking friend - and she always leaves me so nice comments.
Lisette. She's such a great scrapper and she inspires me very much. I love her scrapping style!

I have a little secret, which I can't reveal just now. March 1st I will tell you what it's all about. I'm so happy and I feel quite honoured! :-) .... but for now: MY LIPS ARE SEALED! hehe!

I have no layouts to show you right now. The ones I have created are all for challenges and competitions - so you'll have to wait a bit longer.

Take care all. And thanks a lot for stopping by!

The Big Challenge (Scrapbook Queen 2008) + The RAK winner!

Until 5 days ago I had never ever created a 12 x 12 layout before. I've always created lettersize layouts. Well, I have been thinking about doing 12 x 12, but I never got to do it. Over at Multiscrap the BIG CHALLENGE is going on. Through all of 2008 lots and lots of challenges will be revealed and we are around 90 participants. The first round is done - the winner was revealed today! :-)
I've decided to do 12 x 12 layouts for these challenges. And I had sooooo much fun doing this one:

We had to do a layout about a famous person, we have met - or it could just be a person we somehow look up to. I chose to do a page about JOKEREN - who is a Danish rapper, I've met IRL. It was a fun experience.
We also had to use bling-elements and the 3rd thing to do was to scraplift someone else's layout.
I did a scraplift of Michelle Rehm Couture.
Her layout is posted on December 14th - you can find it on her blog! Michelle's layout is called "I will rock you".

And now! The winner of my RAK!!! My youngest son was my little helper with the drawing. 31 persons made a comment on my last post ... and here's how the draw went:

And whe winner is:

RAK and two new layouts

This blog was born January 11, 2007. So yesterday my blog turned ONE YEAR OLD! And I want to celebrate with a little RAK. Leave a comment on this post and I will do a draw Thursday evening, January 17th - Central European Time. :-)

And here's two new layouts.
First one is about Christmas 2005 (yes I know - I am way behind .... and do not scrap chronological, so I keep having old pics. to scrap! LOL!). My kids are decorating the Christmas tree (in my parents house). They look so concentrated and they used a lot of homemade ornaments.

Background paper is Kelly Panacci design for Sandylion, it's called "Greceful Green". I've used leftovers as well: A bit of BG papers. Homemade hearts, homemade Christmas tree and handwriting on the tag. The "ribbon" is a paper-ribbon.

Next layout was made for a challenge over at TheScrapCat - but I missed the deadline. The rules where to use bright colors. And I created this one:

My youngest son loves bugs (my oldest son loves them too actually!!). In 2004 we were in Croatia and the youngest one found this very green grasshopper. It's as green as his T-shirt! :-)
I've used a little of this and a little of that: Sassafras Lass papers, yellow cardstock, felt flowers, felt butterflies, buttons and brads. And Heidi Swapp mini journaling spots.

Thanks a lot for stopping by! I appreciate all your visits!

Cyber crop

Last Friday (Dec. 28th) we had a cyber crop over at The Scrap Cat. Lot's of fun challenges to play with! I made 4 layouts + an altered item. I loved participating and I look very much forward to do it again some day! :-)

I will show you my creations now. Most of the photos aren't the best. It was quite difficult making good shots when it was dark outside.

Challenge 1:
A sketch challenge. Sketch by Helene, Aug. 2006.

Challenge 2:
Use paint and felt and/or fabric.

Challenge 3:
Use at least 3 pictures, use stamps, use metal as embellishments.

Challenge 4:
Altered item. "Go to your kitchen and find something you can scrap!"
I used a box for chocolate. And here's the BEFORE pic.

And the AFTER pic.

Challenge 5:
Use pictures, 1 piece of cardstock, 2 diff. pieces of patterned papers, one pen and 1 big or 5 small flowers.

Thanks a lot for stopping by!
And HAPPY NEW YEAR!
