Sort baggrund

Denne butik, midt i Venedig, fangede hans øjne!

Prima blomster.

Pigeons and an award

I did this layout for a sketch challenge over at 1-2-3-scrap. Unfortunately something happened in cyberspace as my layout never was received. Oh well, that's what happens.
I'm really satisfied with the result and I love the colors - blue and orange - together. They match so fine and they match my sons shirt.
The pics. are taken in Venice. This big place (Markus Pladsen) has sooooo many pigeons and they are very tame. The kids (and my DH + my dad!!) loved to feed them.

Orange paper: Sassafras Lass, blue/green papers and the blue bird: October Afternoon, chipchatter letters (Pressed Petals) for the title, journaling tag: My Mind's Eye, Chipboard swirl, which I painted blue with a Heidi Swapp acrylic paint and I've used some goldbrads and blue flowers.

I've received this wonderful award from Jette. Thank you very much sweetie. I really appreciate it. I'm supposed to give it to 7 people - and right now I don't know to who. I will think a little about it.
EDIT: I just noticed that Kimic also gave me this great award. Thanks a lot Kirsten, it's so sweet of you! And thank you for the nice words!

By the way, the Header is made of a photo I took in Venice. I love the outcome, but I do think it's a little too big, maybe I'll change it soon. :-)

Thanks for dropping by. I'll talk to you soon.

Cool Challenges

Before we went to Italy I participated in some challenges.
First one was over at Unik Hobby with a sketch challenge. I loved the simple sketch and loved to use circles. The colored patterned paper and the journaling circle is Cosmo Cricket.

Next challenge I did was over at 1-2-3-scrap. You had to make your own transparency to use on the layout. I was totally inspired by the Hambly transparencies - so I did a circular one. This is how I did it: Paint, a glass and then stamp on the transparency.

Here's the layout:

Another Unpubbed layout

This layout has been sitting on my desk for 1½ week. Somehow I couldn't finish it. Today I sat down, pushed myself to FINISH this project and I like the final result. I've been scraplifting Crissy over at Unpubbed. I liked her layout very much!! Go over at see it for yourself - it's called "Clear".

The photo I've used is taken in Sommerland Sjælland last Summer. We had a very grey sky and some rain, but my husband, my brother and the 4 oldest kids jumped into the water anyways. hehe. They got very cold, but the LIKED it. brrrrr. Look at that grey sky!!!

4 days off

YEAH!! Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday we are OFF work.
We will go to ROSKILDE FESTIVAL. And the weather will be so great this year!! Now I hardly can't wait anylonger. We are going to hear a lot of bands and I look very much forward to hear SPLEEN UNITED!! They really rock!! Esp. their tune "Suburbia". We will also go to concerts with Duffy, Radiohead, Band of Horses, Veto, L.O.C. (Danish), Alphabeat (Danish) to mention a few!! It's going to be WILD! :-)
Our boys are going to their grandmom (my mother in law) on a little vacation. ;-)

Well, this layout I did for a sketch competition over at Scrap is Fun. The rule was to use cherries somewhere on the layout and to follow the sketch of course.
Again the pictures are old ones. They are from 2003. My boys loooooved these rabbits! :-)
Background paper is n old Chatterbox. The arrow is grungeboard (Tim Holtz), Prima flower, button and journaling tags are Heidi Swapp. The stamps with the bird on it is fancy pants desgin.

I'll be off the internet for 4 days now. Have a nice time everyone - I'll talk to you soon!

Now to the creative part!
This LO is for Tamara's sketch blog this week. The pictures shows how many apples we got from our little appletree in 2006. I baked some really yummy cakes with those apples!! :-)

Next layout is made for the cybercrop over at Scrapsisters.
It was a sketch challenge. The pictures I've used are from 2003! Old ones! But I love them. My tiny boys are feeding some goats. I love how it turned out.

Summertime

Ahhhh - it's so lovely. The sun is shining from a very blue sky. The temperatures is around 23-25 degrees celcious and it's soon weekend (I just need to go to work tonight, so when it's 9 o'clock tonight I have WEEKEND!!!).

Well, I went outside today taking a few shots of my garden. And here's a couples of photos. I just love the pink flowers!!! We have lots of them in the garden, but unfortunately the blooming is very short.

Next pic. shows our fish pond.
My DH build it 3 years ago and we love to sit there wathing the fish (they are VERY tame - as we can feed them by hand! Isn't that cool??).

I've done the fruit layout for a contest over at the scrap cat. And I was so lucky to win! (you can see my prize in the previous post). I've used som old BG paper for the background - I thought the colors were perfect for the layout.

Last but not least: My first DT work over at Tamaras. You can find the sketch (#47) over at her blog. I've used some old photos from the Summer of 2004 - where we visited Bon Bon Land - a fun place for children .. and adults .. hehe.

That's it for today! I hope you all will have a VERY nice weekend. Thanks for your visit.

Charlotte Street

This is a layout I did for a sketch challenge over at Scrap is Fun
The pic. is taken in London. My DH and I had 3 wonderful days over there in the Summer of 2005. We went for many walks in this awesome city. One of the days we saw the sign "Charlotte Street" and as my name is Charlotte I just had to have a photo of it. :-) The title means: "My street?".

*******************************************

And this is what I received in the mail yesterday. A great prize for winning af layout contest over at The Scrap Cat.
I love the little butterflies (which are Heidi Swapp) and I love all these flowers (MM) - great colors they have!! Thanks a lot Marianne, I love everything!

Sketch This!

Over at Sketch This sketch #50 is revealed and it's a great sketch!! I loved using it for this layout.
I've used BG "Mellow" paper for the background and some leftovers. Primaflowers, a felt flower and a cardstock flower (under the feltflower). Scrappers floss, thickers, buttons and ink.
The pics. are printet on paper - that's why they aren't very bright.

Thanks for your visit! :-)

Boys will be Boys (unpubbed challenge)

I did this layout for a challenge over at Unpubbed. I've made my own version of Shalini's wonderful layout called "Daddy's Love".

Here it is:

The colors are brighter IRL.

Fish papers: ATD.
Flowered b/w paper: Prima.
The arrow is a Sassafras Lass sticker.
Ribbon from Multiscrap (some of my NSD prize).
Transparent: Don't remember.
Blue flower: Prima.
Orange felt flower.
Rubons around the pic.: American Crafts Minimarks.

Sketch challenge

I've created a layout for a sketch challenge over at SIF
Here's the sketch, it's made by Marie. (it got really small, I hope you can see it proberly).

And here's my result:

It was fun working with the sketch. ... and yes, it is a Christmas layout! hehe.
My oldest son is baking chocolate cookies for Christmas 2006 - and they tasted very good!

I have used:
BG "Mellow" as the backgroundpaper.
K & Company "Urban Rhapsody" - the rest of the papers.
Thickers for the title.
Stickles (lime green on the title and red dots along the line of the circle). I love the bling-effect!
The journalingtag is Creative Imaginations.

I almost forgot that I've received an award! Kirsten/kimic gave it to me!! Thank you very much, Kirsten, I appreciate it a lot! :-)

I am supposed to give it to 5 persons. I think many already have received this award, but here's the 5 I've chosen:
Lisette - love your style!! And I love that you've started a Danish challenge blog.
Netti - I also love your style. And I love that you've started the new Danish challenge blog.
Leontine in Holland - I think you create beautiful layouts and it's so cosy that you leave comments on my blog very often!
Christina/LaChris - you have so many fun ideas for your scrapbook pages. Your layouts inspire me. And I still look forward to meet you IRL some day ;-)

Girls just ....

.... wanna have fun!!
The challenge #5 over at Multiscrap - Scrapbook Queen 2008 - was to watch the music video "Girls just Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper and then be inspired to create a layout. I chose to use some photos of myself and my best friend ever - they are from New Years Eve 2003/2004 and we had so much fun!! :-)
Unfortunately Multiscrap never received my take on this challenge - I did sent it before deadline, but somehow she can't find my layout. What a shame - but that's what happens.

I have used:
Black Bazzill, different leftovers, Grungeboard (the swirl) by Tim Holtz, Green "Pine Needles" Crackle Paint on the swirl, tiny Prima flowers, ribbon "party time", buttons from Panduro, Thickers, BG letter-stickers, ink for the edges, scrappers floss and the "cool" and "funky" words are cut from a Love Elsie paper.

Thank you very much for stopping by! I appreciate all visits a lot!

March Guest Designer - woo hoo!

Now I can tell my little secret! I've been asked to be the March Guest Designer over at Scrappin Kids - which is a great challenge blog. All challenges are about our little ones ... our children!
Well, my job was to create a layout with the theme: "Scrap about the thing your little one can't live without, it can be antything - a blankie, a fave toy, fave food, fave song....".

I chose do to a layout about a cake! Both of my sons LOVE this cake - and they can't have a birthday without this cake! Therefore my layout is called "The best cake EVER!".

Go to Scrappin Kids, read the rules, and scrap about that thing your little one can't live without!

Here's my take:

Thank you very much Wati for giving me this great challenge - and thank you SO much for choosing me as your Guest Designer for this month! I feel very honoured!

Ahhh - the 80's!

Over at ScrapCatForum the challenge for January was to scrap a smell or a taste which reminded us of our childhood. I chose a GREAT smell, which I really miss. I get all happy when I think about it and also a tiny bit sad. My layout for this challenge is about my grandparents. My beloved granddad died in Jan. 2002, and I still miss him a lot. I still have my grandmom ... sort of. She's not well, she's tired of life actually and it makes me so sad.
Well, I found an old photo of my grandparents kitchen-window (the photo is taken in the early 80's). And I just knew I would use this photo for my layout about a great smell from my childhood. My grandparents house had a wonderful smell. Always so fresh and clean ... and I loved it!

This was a very fun challenge to do! And here's my result:

Again I chose to scrap 12 x 12 - and this is my 3rd layout in this size. :-) The bird on the photo is my bird, which my granddad gave to me. I had him for 12 years!! I tought him to speak and he loved being outside his cage "talking" to me. He loved sitting on my hand! He was a very cute bird! :-) This LO will be a part of my BOM!

Well, I'm off now. Tomorrow we are travelling to France (to go skiing) together with my brother and SIL. A week of freedom without kids, work or anything like that. Just 4 adults having some fun!!

Have a NICE week! I'll talk to you all soon!

Cyber crop

Last Friday (Dec. 28th) we had a cyber crop over at The Scrap Cat. Lot's of fun challenges to play with! I made 4 layouts + an altered item. I loved participating and I look very much forward to do it again some day! :-)

I will show you my creations now. Most of the photos aren't the best. It was quite difficult making good shots when it was dark outside.

Challenge 1:
A sketch challenge. Sketch by Helene, Aug. 2006.

Challenge 2:
Use paint and felt and/or fabric.

Challenge 3:
Use at least 3 pictures, use stamps, use metal as embellishments.

Challenge 4:
Altered item. "Go to your kitchen and find something you can scrap!"
I used a box for chocolate. And here's the BEFORE pic.

And the AFTER pic.

Challenge 5:
Use pictures, 1 piece of cardstock, 2 diff. pieces of patterned papers, one pen and 1 big or 5 small flowers.

Thanks a lot for stopping by!
And HAPPY NEW YEAR!
